The Freight Officer mainly engages in supporting the Ocean Ops on handling Import/Export shipments. He/she ensures that all customer requests (internal and external) are properly addressed. The Freight Officer reports to the Ocean Freight Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Receive daily booking from Customers (SM/NVOCC) and arrange with the carrier Ensure compliance on the Customer's SOP especially SOPs of SM Accounts Ensuring that there is rate in placed and there is approval on the booking schedule Data entry, documentation and sending pre-alert to destinations Follow up Billing from the carrier, request the payment to carrier and billing the customer Updates shipment milestone in the system and ensuring all the documents needed for filling folder are complete Closely working with BD on the status of the submitted Rates and review how Ops can assist to win the business opportunities. Day to day coordination with the customers, brokers, shipping lines/carrier, BD, Trucking and Origin for any data irregularities, concern on Rates, shipment status, Billing and other matters necessary to accomplish the tasks. Prepares weekly/monthly Report. Work with Import shipments as may deemed necessary
Requirements
- University degree holder
- Preferably Customs Administration Graduate or any other Business Course with experience in forwarding company
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Analytical, strong in planning and organizing, attention to details
- Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Good written & spoken English
- Good team player
- Problem Solving Skills and results Oriented
