Job Title: Freelance Video Editor

Work Type:

JOB OVERVIEW:

The client is seeking an experienced freelance video editor to serve as a fulfillment partner for our client course production pipeline. In this outsourced role, you will take ownership of the full post-production processfrom raw footage to final deliveryensuring every course video meets a polished, professional standard ready for distribution.

You will work within our established toolset and workflow, collaborating closely with our in-house team to meet deadlines, incorporate client feedback, and deliver organized, course-ready files on every project.

PROJECT SCOPE:

Each client engagement typically includes:

  • 20 videos per client course
  • Video length: 310 minutes per video
  • Full post-production from raw footage to final export
  • Revision rounds based on client feedback via Frame.io
  • Organized final delivery to client Google Drive

JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Editing & Post-Production

  • Cut and pace course videos for clarity and viewer engagement
  • Apply caption and text overlays where appropriate
  • Design and integrate graphics, icons, and visual elements
  • Integrate client branding assets including logos, colors, and style guidelines
  • Perform basic color correction to ensure visual consistency across episodes

Audio

  • Clean up and balance audio using Waves Regen (voice repair and mixing)
  • Ensure consistent, broadcast-quality audio across all course videos

Graphics & Motion

  • Create and animate graphic pop-ups and lower-thirds using After Effects
  • Design supplemental visual assets in Photoshop as needed

Workflow & Delivery

  • Use the Cutback plugin in Premiere Pro to align course transcripts with video cuts for efficient editing
  • Upload draft edits to Frame.io for internal and client review
  • Implement all approved revisions in a timely manner
  • Export final renders in course-ready formats and upload to the client's designated Google Drive folder
  • Maintain organized project files following established naming conventions
  • Return Premiere Pro project files (without footage) to the in-house team upon project completion

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED SKILLS & SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY:

Candidates must be proficient in the full Adobe Creative Suite used in our production pipeline:

  • Adobe Premiere Pro primary editing software for cutting, sequencing, and audio work
  • Adobe After Effects motion graphics and animated pop-ups
  • Adobe Photoshop graphic asset creation and visual design
  • Cutback (Premiere Pro plugin) transcript-based editing and cut automation
  • Waves Regen AI-powered audio repair and voice enhancement
  • Frame.io cloud-based video review and client feedback platform
  • Google Drive organized file delivery and client asset management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of professional video editing experience, preferably in online education, e-learning, or corporate training content
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-episode projects (20+ videos) with consistent quality
  • Experience editing two-camera or multi-angle course footage
  • Strong understanding of 4K video workflows and large file management
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines without heavy oversight
  • Strong communication skills for feedback implementation and revision rounds
  • Portfolio or reel showcasing relevant editing work (course, educational, or instructional content preferred)

WORKFLOW & COLLABORATION NOTES

Our production environment is built around a local RAID storage system (5-drive SSD array) used by the in-house team.

Remote editors will receive raw footage delivered via Google Drive and are expected to:

  • Download footage from the shared Google Drive folder
  • Edit locally using their own workstation
  • Upload completed Premiere Pro project files back to the team (footage stays local only the project file needs to be returned, as our team holds the matched footage)
  • Follow established folder and file naming conventions so footage relinks automatically upon delivery
  • Note: Remote editors will not have direct access to the in-house RAID server. All file exchange is handled through Google Drive and Frame.io.
