Job Description

Position Summary

The Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function is looking for a highly motivated Financial Analyst to provide global financial planning and analyses for the corporate functions of Sealed Air Corporation. This individual will support a variety of recurring financial processes including the monthly management reporting and variance analysis, the monthly forecasting process, and will be a key contributor to the corporate team's processes, such as supporting the development of the annual operating plan (AOP). As part of the FP&A team, the Financial Analyst will also be required to support special projects and ad hoc analyses as required. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills. He / she can think critically to navigate financial information systems and can simplify information to create clear outputs to support decision-making. The candidate must have effective communication skills with all levels of management and be able to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Major responsibilities for this position include:

  • Ensure the integrity of the month-end close process for assigned teams/functions, manage expense accruals, confirm proper accounting treatment for journal entries, and interact closely with the shared services centers and procurement to maintain accurate financials.
  • Analyze variances vs. forecast, budget, and prior year. Highlight trends and identify corrective actions and/or opportunities for cost containment. Help drive accountability of the cost center managers through frequent interaction and providing tools for the review of spend to date and forecast.
  • Prepare routine (e.g., functional reporting packages, EBITDA bridges, quarter over quarter P&L analytic processes) for all global regions and ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support Global Functions Finance Managers.
  • Support the monthly forecast and annual AOP processes for assigned teams/functions. Coordinate, complete updates in financial systems (e.g., Hyperion, SAP, BIA), and consolidate functional results, and present final proposal to leadership.
  • Maintain internal controls, GAAP compliant environment: address all audit requests timely and appropriately, perform reconciliations to test adherence, raise due diligence items, as required.
  • Track savings initiatives as needed for assigned business functions.
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements across all financial processes, focusing on process automation and other repeatable, scalable efficiency efforts.
  • Utilize Power BI reports and other automated financial tools to provide teams with additional insights that better inform decision making.
  • Actively problem solve to develop analytical approaches to answer queries in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment; ability to multi-task with proven follow-through and adherence to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Help facilitate requests, ad-hoc analysis and approval process for any type of project assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with various groups throughout the organization

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required
  • 2-4 years of work experience in Finance or related fields
  • Developing skillset or strong desire to learn the following:
  • Financial modeling using Excel, VBA, and/or Power Query
  • ERP and BI analysis utilizing SAP, BIA / B4P / HANA, and Hyperion or OneStream
  • Data visualization with Tableau or Power BI

Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of business concepts, accounting principles, and strong analytical skills
  • Experience with financial planning and consolidation systems such as OneStream or Hyperion (HFM/Essbase)
  • Flexible, patient, and highly pragmatic with ability to reprioritize quickly
  • Proficiency with SAP, Power BI and business intelligence tools. Ability to quickly learn new financial and data systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions. Always focused on achieving outcomes.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multi-task under pressure. Mentally resilient to endure challenges associated with fluid and demanding environments where priorities evolve constantly.
  • Energetic, positive, and collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
