Job Description

The Laboratory Supervisor oversees daily lab operations to ensure accurate and reliable food testing in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include coordinating sample analysis, reviewing test results, managing measurement uncertainty, and releasing final reports to clients. The role also involves training staff, maintaining laboratory safety and organization, managing supplies, and supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the supervisor prepares sampling plans, trend analyses, IMS reports, and oversees proficiency testing to ensure ongoing lab competency and operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collects and analyzes laboratory samples in coordination with laboratory analysts.
  • Computes and evaluates measurement uncertainty to ensure data reliability.
  • Reviews laboratory test results and verifies the accuracy of test reports.
  • Sends finalized laboratory reports to clients and addresses any related inquiries or concerns.
  • Prepares laboratory summary reports and conducts trend analyses for continuous improvement.
  • Provides training and technical guidance to staff on laboratory procedures and best practices.
  • Manages procurement and inventory of laboratory supplies and services.
  • Maintains overall cleanliness, safety, and organization of the laboratory environment.
  • Leads and contributes to laboratory research initiatives and process improvement projects.
  • Supports operational activities and project requirements of designated clients.
  • Conducts internal compliance audits and laboratory inspections to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Develops and implements monthly sampling plans based on operational needs.
  • Prepares Integrated Management System (IMS) monitoring reports on a monthly basis.
  • Designs and oversees the laboratory proficiency testing plan to ensure ongoing competency.
  • Adheres strictly to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: BS Biology major in Microbiology/BS Biology
  • Experience: Minimum three years food microbiology laboratory experience with at least one-year supervisory position
  • Special Skills: RMicro certified by PAM, DOH certified drinking water sampler, with ISO 17025:2017 training
  • Willing to relocate and work in Laguna
