Role Overview
The Artwork Project Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating multiple packaging artwork projects, from design through to print production, for a leading Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) client.
With over 10 years of relevant experience and a strong project management background, this individual will lead cross-functional meetings to align priorities, allocate resources effectively, and drive efficiency in artwork management processes.
This role requires strong relationship-building skills, working across teams such as R&D, Sourcing, Supply, Design, and Operations to ensure the successful delivery of new products to market. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in artwork development and production within a CPG or related industry.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, design, project management, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end artwork, printing, and digital asset creation processes in a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment.
- 8+ years of experience in artwork management, packaging, or project management within a CPG or FMCG environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment across marketing, R&D, sourcing, design agencies, and operations.
- Proficiency in project management tools (Asana, Trello, Monday.com, Jira).
- Familiarity with artwork and design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is beneficial for communication with creative teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Highly collaborative, with experience working with both global and local stakeholders.
- Functional knowledge of marketing, branding, and new product development.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee multiple packaging artwork projects from design through to print-ready packaging.
- Act as the primary liaison between internal teams (marketing, design, R&D, regulatory, supply chain) and external stakeholders (agencies, printers, suppliers).
- Set agendas and clearly define cross-functional responsibilities from project initiation to completion.
- Facilitate regular communication to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Maintain up-to-date project records using project management tools and spreadsheets, tracking milestones, deliverables, and deviations from plan.
- Identify risks, bottlenecks, or delays in the artwork development process and implement mitigation strategies.
- Compile regular project reports highlighting progress, challenges, and proposed solutions.
- Manage feedback loops by consolidating inputs to reduce iterations and enhance efficiency.
- Mentor and coach associate artwork project managers and coordinators.
