Job Description

I.         JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Reporting Associate is responsible for supporting the preparation, analysis, and timely submission of accurate financial reports in compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. The role ensures integrity of financial data, assists in month-end and year-end closing activities, and supports project cost monitoring and analysis to aid management decision-making.

 

II.         GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports

·       Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis

·       Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data and reports

·       Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting schedules

·       Assist in the preparation of reports required for management, regulatory bodies, and external auditors

·       Coordinate with internal departments to gather financial data and ensure proper recording of transactions

·       Support audit activities by preparing required schedules and documentation

·       Monitor compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements

·       Assist in monitoring project costs, including tracking of actual vs. budgeted costs and identifying variances

·       Support the preparation of project financial reports (e.g., cost reports, profitability analysis, and project margins)

·       Coordinate with project teams (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Procurement) to validate cost data and ensure proper cost allocation

·       Identify and recommend process improvements in financial reporting and controls

·       Assist in ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requirements

 

III.         TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

·       Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (e.g., PFRS/IFRS)

·       Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis

·       Knowledge of general ledger processes, reconciliations, and closing procedures

·       Familiarity with audit processes and regulatory reporting requirements

·       Understanding of project accounting and cost monitoring (e.g., budget tracking, cost allocation, WIP, and margin analysis)

·       Ability to analyze project cost variances and identify key cost drivers

·       Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)

·       Experience with accounting systems and ERP platforms

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·       High attention to detail and accuracy

·       Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively

 

IV.         QUALIFICATIONS (i.e. Education, Licenses, Certificates, Skills, Relevant experience)

·       Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field

·       Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an advantage but not required

·       At least 1–3 years of experience in financial reporting, general accounting, or related roles

·       Experience in project-based accounting or cost monitoring is an advantage (e.g., construction, EPC, or similar industries)

·       Experience in audit or working with external auditors is an advantage

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

· High level of integrity and professionalism
