Purpose:
- The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operational and financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes of the Domestic Upstream Oil & Gas Sector. He/She will lead the (FP&A) Operational Performance Analytics Team, with close support and supervision from the Financial Planning & Analysis Head, to collaborate closely with various departments to ensure alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
- He/She will play a key role in providing strategic financial insights, driving performance improvements, and supporting decision-making at all levels of the organization.
THE ROLE
Financial Planning and Budgeting:
- Develop and oversee the quarterly, mid-year and annual budgeting process, including the preparation of budget templates, guidelines, timelines, and presentation materials for all stakeholders.
- Work closely with other departments and the leadership team to establish budget targets and assumptions.
- Lead the monitoring of performance and variance analysis from the budget and from previous years performance on a timely basis.
- Lead the maintenance of SAP Project System and ensure seamless interface with other SAP modules (i.e. SAP FICO, SAP MM) to guarantee accuracy of information;
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Own the preparation and distribution of regular financial reports together with the Financial Planning & Analysis Head.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate business performance, identify trends, and highlight areas for improvement.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and decision support to management and shareholders as needed.
Strategic Planning and Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic planning initiatives and business decision-making.
- Partner with business leaders to understand their financial needs, provide financial insights, and support strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and execution of long-term strategic plans and initiatives to drive business growth and profitability.
- Help prepare periodic financial forecasts and projections based on historical data, market trends, and business drivers.
- Update financial models to assess the impact of different scenarios and strategic initiatives on financial performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on forecast results and analysis.
Process Improvement and Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and enhance accuracy in financial reporting and analysis;
- Implement best practices and standards for financial planning and analysis;
- Lead or participate in projects to implement new systems, tools, or processes to support team activities
Contract Review:
- Review the financial impact assessment of strategic contracts and challenge certain terms and conditions as necessary;
- Assess the potential risks and uncertainties associated with each contract, such as credit risk;
- Check budget availability;
THE INDIVIDUAL
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g. CPA, CFA, CMA) is a plus.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in financial analysis, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and draw meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications esp. Excel and financial software (e.g., ERP systems, BI tools).
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a team of financial analysts.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to provide actionable recommendations based on financial analysis and insights.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
