About the Role
The Financial Planning Analyst supports the organization's planning, budgeting, and financial analysis functions. The role involves working closely with various departments and institutions to provide data-driven insights and support strategic initiatives. It offers exposure to strategy, cross-functional planning, and institutional growth projects.
Responsibilities
- Review, validate, and consolidate annual OPEX and CAPEX budget proposals from more than 80 departments, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and financial guidelines.
- Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders to gather financial information, validate assumptions, and improve budget accuracy and accountability.
- Analyze revenue performance and expenditure trends to identify key drivers, risks, opportunities, and areas for cost optimization.
- Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management dashboards to support executive decision-making.
- Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, investment evaluation, business planning, and scenario analysis.
- Perform variance analysis by comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations on significant deviations.
- Support strategic initiatives by conducting financial analyses, and business case assessments to evaluate financial impact and viability.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial controls, and organizational standards throughout the planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.
- Transform complex and raw financial data into meaningful reports, visualizations, and actionable insights that facilitate informed management decisions.
- Continuously identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting processes, data quality, and analytical capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in financial planning, financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, or related roles
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills
- Solid understanding of Finance principles and practices
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools
- CPA is a plus but not required
