Financial Planning & Analysis Assistant Manager

Job Summary:

Primarily supports and reports to the FP&A Head in conducting financial analysis, business partnering forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning activities that will help Management in making informed decisions and optimize financial performance. The FP&A Assistant Manager is expected to have strong analytical skills, stakeholder management skills, business partnering skills, attention to details, and the ability to interpret and transform financial data into useful financial information. Apart, the FP&A Assistant Manager is also responsible for being and effective and strong Finance Business Partner to the Business Units assigned to them.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares the budget utilization report comparing operational and administrative budgets to actual results on a weekly and monthly basis identifying areas of concern.
  • Prepares Business Unit level reports and coordinates with said business units to align on the performance to date and the expected performance for the rest of the period.
  • Conducts Finance Business Partnering responsibilities and heavily coordinates and works with respective Business Units to establish a strong working relationship between finance and the operations departments.
  • Assists various departments with completing yearly budget requests and justifications and consolidates Company Financial and Operating budgets for Management and Board of Directors approval.
  • Monitors budget versus actual figures and works with department heads to develop strategies to maximize budget efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to, Operations Team and Technology Team, to understand business drivers and align financial analysis with overall corporate objectives.
  • Reviews purchase requisitions including CAPEX, verifying if the budget is sufficient and proper charge codes are identified and used.
  • Works with FP&A Head to review and analyze budget performance to include a review of actual and budgeted expenses to establish trend analysis and provide insights and inputs from the operations team.
  • Develops profit and loss segmental reports and financial models and provides financial insights and recommendations to support business planning and decision-making of Department Heads and Management.
  • Conduct financial modelling and simulations with the FP&A Head per needs of Department Heads and that of the Finance Department.
  • Extracts and analyses big data.
  • Helps the FP&A Head in establishing new key processes/conduct process improvements to gain efficiencies in existing processes.
  • Provides support in leading initiatives and projects for the FP&A team.
  • Provide support and guidance in helping develop the team alongside the FP&A Head.
  • Perform other tasks as designated by the FP&A Head.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience, preferably in the same capacity/position
  • Accounting, Management Accounting, or Finance Graduate
  • Proven working experience in finance or similar role in a corporate setting
  • Working knowledge on using computerized Accounting Systems and Automations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex financial data
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity
  • Can work under pressure - independently and collaboratively
  • With good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in using MS Applications, specifically MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

Good to have:

  • CPA/CMA Certified
  • Working experience in Corporate Finance Department and Budgeting
  • Good experience in managing big data and financial modelling/simulations
  • Experience in Finance Business Partnering/Cross-functional business partnering
