Position: Financial Crime Risk Head

Office Location: UB Plaza - 30F Pasig (Headquarters)

Job Summary: The Financial Crime Risk Head oversees compliance activities and supporting internal and external audits. Provides strategic guidance on AML matters and ensures timely reporting, training, and operational support across the organization.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • The Anti-Money Laundering Policy Unit Head shall be the Secretariat of the AML Committee and shall be responsible for roles of the Secretariat in accordance with the Committee's Charter. Specific tasks in relation to this role may be assigned to her team members
  • Initiate the convening of the AML Committee meetings, finalize the agenda and meeting materials and share the minutes from the meetings within one week after the meeting
  • Act as primary liaison with the BSP and AMLC on specific information requests and surveys and ensure submission within the prescribed timeline
  • In coordination with the CCO, review the disposition of STR cases and approve filing with AMLC within the prescribed period
  • Render advice on MTPP-related queries from the various branches and units
  • Review and update the MTPP as necessary to reflect recent major AML regulations & Board direction
  • Lead the conduct of the periodic AML Institutional Risk Assessment of the Bank and present the results to the management and Board committees
  • Recommend appropriate changes to the STR parameters based on review of STR alerts and cases filed with AMLC, BSP/AMLC advisories and any events or activities that give rise to new ML typologies
  • Update EDD questionnaires on specific high risk businesses, as may be assigned by the CCO
  • Assist the CCO in facilitating all the needs of the BSP Examiners and ensure that the AML findings in the Report of Examination (ROE) are properly responded to and addressed in a timely manner
  • Act as Compliance representative in key Compliance and AML projects in the bank
  • Conduct compliance testing when requested, dissemination of the results thereof, reporting of the results and feedback from various units/groups/branches tested and monitoring of the results or undertakings of the units/groups/branches in a timely manner
  • Become the FATCA point person for the Bank. Ensure the FATCA IDES system is in place for the submission of the required FATCA reports whenever required
  • Conduct AML Trainings in coordination with the Senior AMLCO and CCO for employees of the Bank, third party providers or outsourced service providers
  • Manage and review the day-to-day duties, responsibilities and functions of the AML Section of the Compliance and Corporate Governance Office and its personnel
  • Submit the agreed periodic reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) to the CCO and to the Corporate Governance Committee
  • Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the CCO.
