Finance Controller (Remote – Philippines)
Salary: Starts at $2,500 USD net/month
Schedule: US MST business hours
Experience Level: 10+ years overall
About the Role:
Summit360 Solutions is looking for a Financial Controller to become our CEO's right hand for all things accounting and finance. This is a hybrid strategist/doer role: you will operate at a high level on financial strategy, state tax compliance, and process improvement, while also staying hands-on in the books during month-end close. You'll start by managing our third-party accounting team, learn our full financial operation end-to-end, and grow into the senior finance leader for the business as we scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Full month-end close process, including AR and, depending on experience, payroll oversight.
- Manage and hold accountable our third-party outsourced accounting team (currently billed at an hourly managed-services rate), acting as the primary point of contact and quality-control layer over their work.
- Lead new state nexus tax registrations as the business expands into new jurisdictions.
- Serve as the CEO's right-hand partner for all accounting and finance matters — flagging issues, recommending fixes, and translating financial detail into decisions he can act on.
- Shadow the CEO directly during the transition period (ideally starting during a live month-end close) to learn the full financial picture of the business.
- Over time, work alongside our FP&A lead to gradually shift day-to-day management of the third-party accounting relationship, while staying involved as a senior escalation point.
- As the company grows, help build out and eventually lead an internal finance team under you.
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of deep, hands-on NetSuite experience — this is non-negotiable and the single most important technical qualification for this role.
- QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience is a strong nice-to-have, not required.
- Full Controller-level background — comfortable operating at a strategic, high level and equally comfortable getting into the weeds of the books yourself.
- US-based accounting experience (US GAAP, US multi-state tax exposure) — you'll be supporting a US company and need to speak that language fluently.
- Prior experience leading or managing teams is welcome, but you need to be a genuine player-coach: someone who can direct others and still personally execute the work, not purely a delegator.
- Experience managing or working alongside a third-party/outsourced accounting or bookkeeping firm is a strong plus.
- CPA preferred, but not required if experience and technical depth are strong
