About The Role
The Financial Analyst will support the Tech Consulting leadership team in monitoring the financial performance of projects, service lines, and the overall Tech Consulting practice. The role will focus on profitability tracking, billing status, collections monitoring, financial reporting, and project-level financial analysis to enable timely management decisions.
The Financial Analyst will work closely with the Senior Manager co-leads and relevant project teams to ensure that financial data is accurate, complete, and regularly updated. The role is expected to provide clear analysis, highlight financial risks or delays, and assist in driving discipline around project profitability, billing, and collection performance.
I. Key Responsibilities
Project Profitability Monitoring
- Monitor project profitability, including revenue, cost, margin, realization, and budget versus actual performance.
- Maintain project-level financial trackers and identify margin issues, cost overruns, delayed billings, or collection concerns.
- Coordinate with project managers on financial variances and support management actions to improve profitability.
- Monitor actual, running, and projected project margins and identify engagements at risk of profitability deterioration.
- Conduct root cause analysis on low-margin or underperforming engagements and recommend corrective actions.
Billing and Collection Monitoring
- Track project billing schedules, milestones, actual billings, outstanding invoices, aging receivables, and collection status.
- Coordinate with project teams, Finance, Billing, and Collections to follow up on delayed billing or unpaid invoices.
- Prepare regular billing and collection updates and escalate overdue items to Senior Manager co-leads and relevant stakeholders.
- Perform reconciliation between financial systems, TC Collection File, and management dashboards to ensure data accuracy.
Service Line Financial Reporting
- Prepare service line financial reports covering revenue, profitability, billings, collections, and relevant performance indicators.
- Consolidate project financial data to provide service line and overall Tech Consulting performance views.
- Support dashboards, management reports, and trend analysis for periodic financial reviews.
- Analyze trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities across service lines and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
Data Management and Financial Analysis
- Maintain accurate financial trackers, reports, and supporting schedules.
- Validate and reconcile project financial information from relevant sources.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, gaps, and opportunities.
- Assist in preparing periodic financial packs for Tech Consulting leadership.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with project managers, engagement teams, Finance, Billing, and Collections.
- Follow up on pending financial information, billing updates, collection status, and agreed action items.
- Support preparation for financial review meetings and document key discussion points.
Process Improvement and Governance Support
- Improve finance monitoring templates, dashboards, processes, and reporting routines.
- Support consistent tracking of project profitability, billing, and collections across Tech Consulting.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance visibility, accountability, and reporting timeliness.
- Monitor action plans and follow through on identified financial concerns.
II. Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, project finance, management reporting, billing, collections monitoring, or business finance support.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify key issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data validation, and financial trackers.
- Experience preparing reports, dashboards, financial summaries, or management presentations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of financial and project data.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and follow through on pending items.
