Financial Accountant

About the Role

We're looking for two Financial Accountants to embed inside a US-based real estate investment firm and support the accounting for a multi-property portfolio. Both are confirmed openings driven by ongoing portfolio growth.

You'll prepare accurate monthly financial statements, review journal entries, and safeguard the integrity of financial reporting across your assigned properties. Structured onboarding, hands-on training, and multi-level review support are all in place, and the expectation is that you move through them at pace and need limited hand-holding once oriented. This is a communicative, team-oriented seat—you're expected to integrate into the team, share regular updates, and take ownership of your work.

What You'll Do

Financial Reporting & Close

• Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties
• Review general ledger activity and post journal entries (accruals, reclasses, corrections)
• Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet tie-outs
• Progress toward independently managing the full property close process

Analysis & Review

• Analyze revenue and expense activity and investigate discrepancies
• Draft clear variance explanations
• Participate in the multi-level financial review process prior to final approval

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with reporting standards and deadlines
• Maintain documentation and support audit readiness
• Handle real estate tax and draw workflows, including lender interactions

Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate with regional managers on preliminary financials
• Navigate and utilize Yardi (training provided if needed)
• Identify errors independently, escalate appropriately, and communicate proactively

What We're Looking For

Non-Negotiables

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1 to 3+ years of accounting experience
• ERP experience (Yardi preferred, not mandatory)
• Strong Excel proficiency
• Working understanding of GAAP
• Strong communicator across email, chat, and video calls
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and naturally investigative with financial data
• Self-sufficient once oriented; proactive with updates and comfortable in a structured review environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Property management or real estate accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with Yardi
• CPA or CPA-track (not required)
• Strong reconciliation and error-detection skills
• A track record of reaching independent ownership of a portfolio or system faster than a standard ramp
• Ability to improve processes and suggest efficiencies
• High accountability in remote or hybrid environments
