Job Description

  • Financial Accountant is responsible to conduct preparation, review and analysis of financial transactions and activities. You will be in-charge in the monitoring, recording, maintaining and closing of accounting books and tax reporting schedules in order to provide better interpretation of data and confidence on the reports (such as financial statements, account schedules, variance analysis). You adhere to accounting policies and procedures and tax rules and regulations by the respective government agencies in all transactions to ensure that the standard reporting requirements are actually met. You will observe internal control policies, as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the responsibilities and processes of Financial Accounting team, conduct training and coaching with the team and evaluate performance of Financial Accounting Team.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance - Prepare financial statements and ensure adherence to PFRS/GAAP and joint venture regulations.
  • Accounts Payable Processing & Approval - Verify, process, and secure approval for vendor invoices while ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Tax & Regulatory Compliance - Handle VAT, corporate tax, and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and joint venture obligations.
  • Accounts Reconciliation & Cash Flow Management - Reconcile vendor accounts, monitor payables, and ensure efficient cash flow management.
  • Audit Support & Process Improvement - Assist with internal and external audits while enhancing AP workflows for better accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience as Financial Accountant
  • Proven leadership and management abilities, overseeing accounting teams, ensuring efficient operations, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Proficient in using advanced features of MS Excel for financial analysis and accounting software for facilitating efficient bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial forecasting
  • In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure compliance with global and local accounting frameworks
  • Knowledgeable in tax laws and regulations, including VAT, income tax, and tax filing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance.
  • Must have experience in reconciling company bank statements, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring that all transactions are accurately reflected in financial records
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, derive insights, and provide actionable recommendations for business improvement
