About the Role
The Finance Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, with a primary focus on Comptrollership and Accounting (70%), ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, cash management, and internal controls. The role will also support Venture Capital Investments and Financial Planning (30%) through financial modeling, investment analysis, portfolio reporting, and strategic finance initiatives.
Comptrollership & Accounting (70%)
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain the overall financial health of the organization through effective accounting and financial controls.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Manage Accounts Receivable, billing, collections, and issuance of Official Receipts.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, cash disbursements, and cash flow monitoring.
- Process and ensure compliance with all BIR, SEC, and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and monitor company budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Analyze costs, pricing, profitability, and business performance against financial plans.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities and recommend process improvements.
- Ensure adherence to Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and applicable accounting regulations.
- Strengthen internal controls and continuously improve finance processes.
VC Investments & Financial Planning (30%)
- Support evaluation of venture capital investment opportunities through financial analysis and due diligence.
- Develop and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, and investment scenarios.
- Prepare investment committee materials and financial presentations.
- Monitor portfolio company performance through KPI tracking and financial reporting.
- Assist in annual financial planning, budgeting, and long-range forecasting.
- Perform market research, industry benchmarking, and financial analysis to support strategic initiatives.
- Partner with business leaders in evaluating new business opportunities and investment decisions.
- Support fundraising, board reporting, and strategic finance projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- CPA is highly preferred; CFA or equivalent certification is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, corporate finance, or financial planning.
- Experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, startups, or high-growth companies is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, taxation, and statutory regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools is preferred.
