Job Description

Job Summary: The Finance Head Operations oversees the financial management and performance of the company's utility operations. The role ensures sound financial control, accurate reporting, and strategic financial planning that supports operational efficiency and business growth. This position partners closely with Operations, Commercial, and Project Development teams to ensure alignment between financial objectives and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across operating sites and business units.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making in operations, project execution, and capital investments.
  • Evaluate financial implications of new projects, rate adjustments, and operating initiatives.

2. Financial Control & Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reports in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Oversee cost control, cash flow monitoring, and asset management for utility operations.
  • Implement internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard company resources.

3. Operational Finance Management

  • Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to analyze cost drivers, productivity, and efficiency metrics.
  • Review and approve procurement, contracts, and operational expenditures to ensure alignment with budget.
  • Monitor performance of service providers and concession agreements where applicable.

4. Strategic & Regulatory Support

  • Support rate-setting, tariff reviews, and regulatory submissions with financial data and analysis.
  • Provide financial guidance for new ventures, expansion projects, and JV opportunities in the utilities sector.
  • Participate in management reviews and strategy planning sessions.

5. Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor finance teams in operational sites; strengthen financial capabilities and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Drive automation and digitalization initiatives to enhance financial visibility and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Economics. CPA required; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1015 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the utilities, conglomerate, infrastructure, or industrial sector.
  • Strong understanding of project finance, cost control, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, reporting, and stakeholder management.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, financial modeling, and analytics tools.
