Position Summary
The Finance / Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the companys financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. The role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, and adherence to regulatory and company policies while supporting management in financial planning and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
- Review and approve accounting entries, schedules, and supporting documents.
Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with BIR, SEC, LGU, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee preparation and filing of tax returns, permits, and statutory reports.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and government agencies.
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and tax regulations.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Monitor actual performance versus budget and analyze variances.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Establish, implement, and enforce accounting policies and internal controls.
- Ensure proper segregation of duties and fraud prevention measures.
- Review financial processes and recommend improvements.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor cash flow, bank balances, and funding requirements.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit management.
- Approve disbursements and ensure proper cash management practices.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting and finance staff.
- Ensure workloads are properly assigned and deadlines are met.
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Management Support & Reporting
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, and financial presentations.
- Support business decisions through financial insights and analysis.
- Participate in management meetings and strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA license preferred (or equivalent professional certification).
- At least 57 years of relevant accounting or finance experience, with managerial exposure.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and sound judgment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
