The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and local regulations, and providing timely and insightful financial information to support business decisions. This role involves managing the accounting team, developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures, and ensuring the integrity of the financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Accounting and Reporting:
- Oversee the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Ensure the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with PFRS.
- Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Coordinate and support the annual financial audit process.
- Tax Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and compliance with local tax regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Manage tax audits and liaise with tax authorities.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual budget.
- Prepare and analyze budget variances and provide explanations for deviations.
- Contribute to the financial forecasting process.
- Internal Controls:
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and accounting processes.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Identify and recommend improvements to internal control processes.
- Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting team, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring performance.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify training needs.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the team.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in the implementation of new accounting systems or technologies.
- Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant local and international financial regulations and company policies.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and best practices.
- Liaison:
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and complete financial information.
- Other Duties:
- Assist the Head of Finance with ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.
- Provide support to other finance functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is a requirement for this role.
- More than Five (5) years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least five (5) years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and local tax regulations.
- Proven experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in the logistics or e-commerce industry is an advantage.
