Job Description

Finance & Accounting Manager – Philippines

Reports to: John Teo, CFO - ASPAC

About the Opportunity

CLASQUIN Philippines is entering an important stage of development as we establish and grow our presence in the Philippines

market.

As part of CLASQUIN's international network and the wider MSC Group, our Philippine operation combines the opportunity to build and shape a growing organisation locally with the governance, standards and resources of an established global group.

We are seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager who can operate effectively in this environment — someone who brings the structure and discipline gained from working within a multinational organisation, together with the adaptability, ownership and hands-on experience required to build and scale a developing business.

This is a key leadership position within CLASQUIN Philippines. The successful candidate will be responsible not only for managing the Finance & Accounting function, but also for establishing the financial framework, controls and processes required to support the company's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Lead the Finance & Accounting function for CLASQUIN Philippines and act as a key financial partner to local management.
  • Provide timely financial insights and analysis to support commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Partner with Regional and Group Finance teams to ensure alignment with corporate requirements, policies and reporting standards.
  • Support the development of the Philippine business through sound financial planning, governance and risk management.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all accounting activities and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing.
  • Prepare financial and management reports in accordance with local requirements and Group reporting standards.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
  • Analyse revenue, costs, margins, profitability and key financial performance indicators.
  • Provide management with clear financial analysis and recommendations.

Treasury & Working Capital

  • Manage cash flow, treasury and banking activities.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Drive effective credit control, collection and supplier payment processes.
  • Monitor working capital and identify opportunities to improve cash conversion and financial efficiency.

Compliance, Governance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with Philippine accounting, tax, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate statutory audits and support internal and Group audit requirements.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls, policies and financial procedures.
  • Ensure local practices remain aligned with CLASQUIN and Group governance requirements.

Building for Growth

  • Develop and implement scalable Finance & Accounting processes to support the growth of CLASQUIN Philippines.
  • Identify process gaps and implement practical, sustainable improvements.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of finance systems, reporting tools and Group processes.
  • Build the capabilities and structure of the Finance function as the Philippine organization develops.

Candidate Profile

The nature of this role requires a combination of multinational experience and entrepreneurial capability.

The ideal candidate will have worked within a structured multinational environment and understand the importance of strong financial governance, internal controls, reporting standards and cross-border collaboration.

At the same time, we are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working in a start-up, new market entry, newly established subsidiary, transformation or high-growth environment, where processes and structures needed to be developed rather than simply inherited.

The successful candidate should therefore be comfortable moving between strategic and operational responsibilities — capable of establishing the financial framework for the organisation while remaining sufficiently hands-on to support the day-to-day needs of a growing business.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Approximately 8–10 years or more of progressive Finance & Accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or leading a Finance & Accounting function.
  • Experience within a multinational organisation strongly preferred.
  • Experience establishing, transforming or scaling a Finance function, business unit or legal entity would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, taxation and statutory requirements.
  • Strong capabilities in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, working capital and internal controls.
  • Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with local, regional and international stakeholders.
  • Experience within freight forwarding, logistics, transportation or a related industry would be advantageous.

Why CLASQUIN Philippines

This role offers an opportunity to join CLASQUIN Philippines at a formative stage of its development.

Rather than stepping into a fully established Finance function, the Finance & Accounting Manager will have the opportunity to help shape the financial foundation of the organisation — establishing the processes, controls and ways of working that will support the business as it grows.

At the same time, the role operates within the framework of an established international organisation, providing exposure to regional and global stakeholders, Group standards and the broader capabilities of the MSC Group.

For a Finance professional who has experienced both the structure of a multinational organisation and the agility required to build and scale a developing business, this represents an opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to CLASQUIN's growth in the Philippines.
