About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to lead the full spectrum of financial management, reporting, compliance, and controls for our Philippines operations within the commodities / oil & gas sector.
Based in Valenzuela City and reporting directly to the Group Finance Manager at our Singapore headquarters, this role plays a critical part in ensuring strong financial governance, regulatory compliance, accurate reporting, and effective business partnering in a fast-paced trading and operational environment. The Finance Manager will act as the key finance lead for the Philippines entity while aligning with regional and group finance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process and ensure timely submission of reporting packages to Singapore HQ.
- Ensure compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), BIR regulations, SEC requirements, and other statutory obligations.
- Oversee tax filings (VAT, withholding taxes, corporate income tax) and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Maintain strong internal controls, including review of bank, AR/AP, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare management reports, variance analysis, and financial insights to support business decisions.
- Partner with trading, operations, treasury, and risk control on margin analysis, working capital, and cash flow management.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in coordination with Group Finance.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the local finance team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Minimum 710 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance; with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in commodities, oil & gas, energy, or related industries strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of:
-Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS)
-BIR tax regulations and local statutory compliance
-Internal controls and corporate governance frameworks
- Experience working in a multinational environment and reporting to regional/global HQ is an advantage
- Good track record dealing with auditors and tax authorities
- Proficiency in ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with BI tools is a plus.
- Good competency of AI tools
- Strong analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
