Responsible for managing a company's finances, which includes financial planning, risk management, and reporting. Key duties include overseeing budgets and expenses, analyzing financial data to identify opportunities and weaknesses, and working with the CEO on strategic initiatives. He will also lead the finance and accounting teams and are ultimately accountable for the organization's financial health.
Key responsibilities
- Financial planning and strategy: Developing financial strategies, creating budgets, forecasting, and managing cash flow to ensure the company's long-term growth.
- Financial reporting and analysis: Approving financial statements, analyzing financial data to identify issues and opportunities, and ensuring all reports are accurate and timely.
- Risk management: Establishing financial policies and frameworks for risk management to protect the company from financial threats.
- Strategic partnerships: Working closely with the President and CEO and other executives on business decisions, and advising the board of directors.
- Capital and funding: Securing funding, managing capital structure, and identifying investment opportunities, including potential mergers and acquisitions.
- Team leadership: Building and managing the finance and accounting departments.
Key qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a Master of Science in Finance (MSF) preferred.
- Professional Certifications in any of the following:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA): Especially valuable for deep accounting knowledge and regulatory compliance in the Philippines.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA): Focuses on investment and financial analysis.
- CIMA or CMA: Strong for roles with a management accounting focus, which is highly relevant in manufacturing.
- At least 5 years experience handling Finance Director position or equivalent.
