Job description:

A Finance Associate who can turn complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that drive smarter business decisions. In this role, you'll work closely with stakeholders across Finance and other departments to refine key metrics, build dashboards, and uncover trends that inform strategic planning and operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficient in SQL, Metabase, Google Sheets/Excel
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Nice to have but not required:
  • Proficient in sales software and CRM systems (e.g.,Aircall, HubSpot).

What you'll do:

Data Support

  • Assist in preparing reports, analyses and data requests from finance team members and other stakeholders.
  • Learn and apply SQL and other tools to gather, clean, and interpret data.
  • Support the team in maintaining data accuracy and consistency across reports.

Process and Documentation

  • Handle ad hoc requests involving process mapping or documentation of product and finance workflows.
  • Maintain clear, organized records of reports, data logic, and recurring analyses.
  • Support the creation and updating of finance and product documentation to ensure alignment across teams.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work with Product, Operations, and other teams to understand the link between product activity and financial outcomes.
  • Communicate findings and process updates clearly and professionally.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reporting, and documentation.
  • Suggest enhancements to existing analysis or data processes that improve visibility and decision-making.

Expectations During the First 30 Days (Probationary Period)

The first 30 days will serve as a learning and transition period. By the end of this phase, the following milestones are expected:

  • Familiarize yourself with existing financial reports and data sources.
  • Complete basic training in SQL and MetaBase.
  • Take ownership of at least one report or documentation task.

Regular check-ins will be held throughout the 30 days to ensure smooth onboarding and progress.

Performance Evaluation

  • Self-assessment: Completed by the associate and documented before the end of the probationary period, then annually thereafter.
  • Manager's assessment: Completed by the Finance Analyst (or designated manager) before the end of probation and annually thereafter.

Evaluations will focus on accuracy, learning progress, initiative, documentation quality, and collaboration across teams.

Equipment:

  • Fast internet (at least 25 Mbps upload and download speed)
  • Processor: i5 or equivalent
  • RAM: min. 8GB
  • You will be required to have a second monitor (min of 24 at 1920x1080 resolution) within 30 days from start date

What to expect (schedule, pay and training):

Schedule

  • 10 hours per day, 5 days per week
  • Includes 1-hour lunch and 40-min break
  • Start time between 8am to 10am CT
  • PTO policy: 45 hrs every 6 mos
  • 1 month's notice for each week of PTO
  • 2 weeks notice for anything less than 1 week of PTO
  • Notify your manager before your shift for sick days
  • Medical certificate required for sick leave exceeding 3 consecutive days

Probationary

  • Pay: $1300 USD per month
  • Probationary period: 3 months

Non-Probationary

  • Pay: $1500 USD per month
  • Performance based incentive applicable after probation
