Our client, established in 2010, is a Philippine reinsurance brokerage firm licensed as a Reinsurance Broker. They provide prompt, reliable, and professional services to local insurance companies as a trusted alternative partner. The company is led by experienced directors and a team of seasoned professionals with strong backgrounds in the insurance industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company business objectives.
- Provide strategic financial insights to the Board and Executive Management to support decision-making.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning - not required
Financial Management & Operations
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including general accounting, treasury, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant preparation of financial statements.
- Manage investment portfolios, cash flow, and capital adequacy to optimize returns and liquidity.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with insurance/reinsurance regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting standards (IFRS, local GAAP).
- Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and rating agencies.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls and risk management frameworks.
Business Partnering & Performance
- Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and operations teams to align financial management with business performance.
- Monitor profitability, claims ratios, and reinsurance arrangements.
- Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and insights on growth opportunities and risks.
Team Leadership & Development (NOT REQUIRED)
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to build high performance and technical expertise.
- Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree holder in accountancy, or any related field
- Preferably CPA, but no required
- With at least 5 - 10 years experience in accounting and finance
- Preferably someone from Insurance or Construction industry
- 2 years experience as supervisor or handling people is preferred but not required. Open to candidates with no leadership experience.
- Knowledgeable in industries involving reinsurance and insurance.
- Have good knowledge of tax law and regulation, able to handle the government statutory reports and comply the filing requirements, has hands-on experience dealing with government agents, such as BIR, Insurance Commission (IC), etc.
- An excellent team player able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers in department and other terms.
- Self-motivated worker with good time management, still able to meet tight deadline and work under pressure.
- Highly trainable and has the potential to become a leader
- Preferred age group is early 30s and up.
