Job Overview
The Finance and Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and strategic financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and manage financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to align with organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
- Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control costs, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Profitability Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of profitability for products, services, and business segments.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze variances between actual financial results and budgeted/forecasted figures, providing insights and recommendations.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage and optimize cash flow, including working capital, capital expenditure, and investment analysis.
- Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Financial Systems: Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion and resolution of audit findings.
- Strategic Financial Advice: Provide strategic financial advice to senior management, contributing to decision-making processes and long-term planning.
Qualifications
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a combined accounting and finance management role.
- Experience working in a start-up environment is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and tax regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to contribute to the overall business strategy.
