Job Description

Position: Finance & Accounting Assistant Manager

Reports to: Finance & Accounting Manager, ASEAN

Role Overview

The Finance & Accounting Assistant Manager supports the effective execution of Vero Philippines finance and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting in line with local statutory requirements and Vero Group standards.

This role works closely with the Finance & Accounting Manager and Regional Finance team, acting as a key operational partner to support business performance, financial discipline, and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting Operations

  • Support and oversee day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, payments, and expense verification.
  • Review and verify invoices, tax invoices, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure proper documentation, filing, and record-keeping in accordance with internal controls and audit requirements.

Month-End & Financial Reporting

  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including general ledger support, balance sheet reconciliation, and cost allocations.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and analysis for financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure timely submission of financial reports in line with regional reporting timelines.

Tax & Compliance

  • Support compliance with Philippine tax regulations, including VAT, withholding tax, and statutory filings.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and government authorities as required.
  • Stay informed of changes in local tax and accounting regulations and escalate relevant updates to the Finance & Accounting Manager.

Audit & External Coordination

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and audit responses.
  • Liaise with banks, auditors, and external partners to resolve routine finance or accounting matters.

Budgeting & Business Support

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost monitoring activities.
  • Support preparation of management reports with basic financial insights and variance explanations.
  • Respond to routine finance-related inquiries from internal stakeholders and regional finance.

Team & Process Support

  • Provide guidance and day-to-day support to junior finance or accounting staff, where applicable.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to Vero Group finance policies and internal governance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage
  • 67 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting
  • Audit background or experience working with external auditors is a plus
  • Solid knowledge of Philippine accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
  • Strong attention to detail, sense of ownership, and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)

  • Hybrid Office: Our team in the Philippines is moving to a hybrid office set up, where teams will spend 1-2 days each week in the office.
