Financial Accountant

The Role
Were looking for an experiencedFinancial Accountantwith a strong background in audit and financial reportingideally someone who has worked in or with listed entities. In this role, youll manage financial reporting, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and support both internal and external reporting processes. Youll also contribute to audits, budgets, and system improvements while mentoring junior team members.
This is a key finance position with a strong focus on technical accounting, process improvement, and stakeholder communication.

What Youll Be Doing
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with external auditors during audit cycles
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Oversee general ledger integrity and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in preparing board and investor reports for listed entities
- Coordinate internal and external audit processes and resolve audit queries
- Monitor internal controls and suggest automation/process improvements
- Keep updated on accounting, tax, and compliance changes
- Contribute to finance transformation projects and system upgrades
- Mentor and support junior members of the finance team
What Youll Need
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CA qualified (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Financial Accountant
- Background in external audit, ideally from a Big 4 or mid-tier firm
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (especially for listed entities)
- Proven ability to manage financial reporting across multiple companies or clients
- Skilled in financial systems and advanced Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, with ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Preferred But Not Required
- Experience in ERP digital transformation
- Familiarity with financial reporting across jurisdictions (e.g., ASX, NZX, LSE)
- Exposure to consolidations, multi-entity structures, or tax compliance
- Experience in e-commerce or startup environments
