The Fashion Designer will conceptualize, create, and develop fashion designs that align with the brand aesthetic and target market. Will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Production Merchandising, Purchasing, R&D, Product and Development, Merchandising Planning, Control Department, and Marketing, to ensure that the designs are translated into successful retail products that meet customer needs and contribute to the company's growth.
About the Role
What you'll do:
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative design ideas aligned with the seasonal theme.
- Contribute to discussions on color palettes, silhouettes, fabrics, prints, graphics, and embellishments to create a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing collection.
- Create manual sketches for brainstorming and concept development.
- Work with graphic artists to develop seasonally themed prints, graphics, and embellishments.
- Collaborate with R&D and Artists on lab dips and strike-offs to ensure color matching and consistency.
- Collaborate with pattern makers on styles that require draping or mock-ups, ensuring the Sample Department understands the garment construction.
- Complete all details to ensure a smooth prototyping process.
- Provide constructive feedback to streamline the fitting process, thereby reducing the need for revisions and ensuring efficient production of prototypes.
- Demonstrate expertise in fitting denim garments for both men and women, ensuring comfort, style, and functionality.
- Apply specialized knowledge in denim design, including washes and treatments, to enhance garment aesthetics and durability.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Fashion Design.
Required Skills
- Exceptional fashion sense and up-to-date knowledge of color trends and the fashion industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator).
- Strong understanding of garment proportions, pattern making, and sewing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Specific experience in designing for teens, including knowledge of garment fitting.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in designing teens clothing, either locally or internationally, is a plus.
