Facilities Repair & Maintenance Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Facilities Repair & Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of the organization's facilities, buildings, equipment, and utilities. The successful candidate will ensure that all facilities are safe, fully operational, and compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, managing contractors and vendors, and driving continuous improvements in facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, facilities, equipment, utilities, and grounds to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Coordinate renovation projects, facility improvements, inspections, and maintenance programs.
- Oversee maintenance services involving electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic, carpentry, masonry, HVAC, and general building repairs.
- Manage and coordinate external contractors and vendors for maintenance services, capital projects, and material procurement.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, occupational health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Monitor maintenance budgets, control operating costs, and recommend cost-effective solutions for facility management.
- Lead initiatives to improve energy efficiency, waste reduction, workplace safety, and operational effectiveness.
- Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance staff to ensure quality workmanship, productivity, and adherence to safety standards.
- Respond promptly to facility-related issues and implement corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions.
- Prepare maintenance reports, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and recommend process improvements to enhance facility performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or repair and maintenance supervision.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance programs and building systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, and general building maintenance.
- Knowledge of local building codes, occupational health and safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience managing maintenance teams, contractors, and third-party service providers.
- Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or similar maintenance software.
