Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and driven External Audit Senior Specialist to join a professional services firm. This role is ideal for someone who can lead audit engagements, manage client relationships, and guide junior team members while ensuring high-quality audit delivery and compliance with applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute external audit engagements in accordance with auditing standards and firm methodologies
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior audit specialists
- Manage client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact during engagements
- Identify audit risks, assess internal controls, and recommend improvements
- Prepare and review audit working papers, financial statements, and supporting documentation
- Provide timely updates and reports to managers regarding engagement progress, issues, and findings
- Assist in planning audit engagements and coordinating team activities
Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred/required (adjust if needed)
- 3–5 years of relevant external audit experience
- Proven experience in supervising or handling junior audit staff
- Strong client management and communication skills
- Experience in reporting to managers and coordinating across teams
- Solid understanding of accounting and auditing standards
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
