Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven External Audit Manager to oversee external audit engagements, lead audit teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality audit services.

The ideal candidate must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with substantial external audit experience, proven people management capabilities, and, most importantly, hands-on experience handling external audit engagements within the insurance industry.

Candidates must have a strong understanding of auditing standards, financial reporting, and insurance-related accounting practices. Experience auditing insurance companies is a critical requirement for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage External Audit Engagements: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of external audit engagements, ensuring compliance with applicable auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
• Insurance Industry Audits: Lead and review audit engagements for insurance companies, including the examination of insurance-related financial statements, accounting records, and supporting documentation.
• Audit Planning and Risk Assessment: Develop audit strategies, identify potential financial and operational risks, and establish appropriate audit procedures.
• Financial Statement Review: Review financial statements, audit working papers, supporting schedules, and other relevant documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Team Leadership and Management: Supervise, mentor, and develop audit teams, delegate responsibilities, monitor performance, and ensure timely completion of audit engagements.
• Quality Assurance: Review audit findings and working papers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional auditing standards.
• Client Relationship Management: Coordinate with clients, senior management, and relevant stakeholders to discuss audit requirements, findings, recommendations, and outstanding matters.
• Audit Reporting: Review and finalize audit reports, communicate significant audit findings, and provide recommendations to address identified issues.
• Engagement Monitoring: Monitor engagement timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed efficiently and within established deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
• Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• 6–7 years of relevant external audit experience.
• At least 2 years of people management or audit team leadership experience.
• At least 1 year of hands-on external audit experience handling insurance industry clients – REQUIRED.
• Strong understanding of external auditing standards, financial reporting, and audit procedures.
• Experience managing audit engagements and supervising audit teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and client management skills.
