Position Overview
Export Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating export activities to ensure timely and compliant shipment of goods to international customers. The role oversees the preparation and completion of export documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading/Airway Bills, Certificates of Origin, and other regulatory requirements. The Export Officer works closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and internal departments such as PPIC, Finance, and Warehouse to facilitate smooth export operations, monitor shipment progress, and ensure compliance with applicable trade regulations and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and the latest Incoterms issued by the International Chamber of Commerce.
- Monitor shipment schedules and ensure the on-time delivery of export orders.
- Monitor customs clearance processes and resolve shipment issues or delays.
- Maintain accurate records of export transactions and ensure the proper filing of documents.
- Prepare export reports and provide updates to management.
- Assist with accreditation and compliance requirements related to export operations
Education
- Graduate of bachelor's degree in Customs or Business Administration
- Must Licensed Customs Broker
Experience
- Have experience in handling export documentation and customs clearance
- Have familiarity with freight forwarding processes and coordination with shipping lines
- Knowledgeable in export procedures and documentation (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, etc)
- Familiar with regulation of the Bureau of Customs and government agencies related to export
- Understanding of incoterms
Skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Have strong coordination and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to work under pressure and meet shipping lines deadlines
- Have strong problem-solving skills
- Good negotiation skills with freight forwarders and brokers
- Willing to work extended hours when necessary (especially during shipment schedule)
- Can work with minimal supervision.
