Position Overview
The Junior Project Manager / Estimator (Remote) supports commercial construction projects by assisting with estimating, scheduling, drafting, and project coordination from bid stage through project completion. This role also provides back-end estimating support to senior estimators, including preparing and organizing quotes and bid documentation. The position works remotely and collaborates closely with onsite supervisors and project teams.
Role Responsibilities
- Review architectural and construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Complete material and labor take-offs using estimating software.
- Prepare cost estimates, bid proposals, and supporting documentation.
- Type, format, and compile quotes to support senior estimators during bid preparation.
- Develop and maintain project schedules.
- Prepare and track change orders.
- Assist with work scheduling and coordination of trades in collaboration with onsite supervisors.
- Provide weekly project cost and progress updates.
- Prepare meeting minutes and maintain project records.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for scope, coordination, and compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare and revise basic construction and shop drawings using CAD software as required.
- Request and review pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Attend project, site, and pre-bid meetings remotely and communicate regularly with onsite supervisors.

Job Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience.
- 13 years experience in estimating, drafting, project coordination, or construction.
- Strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and terminology.
- Architectural background with the ability to read, interpret, and produce construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in a remote work environment.
- Technical Skills
- CAD drafting experience required (AutoCAD or similar).
- Proficiency with PlanSwift for quantity take-offs.
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu for drawing review and markups.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (estimating, tracking, reporting).
- Comfortable using video conferencing and remote collaboration tools.
