ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead the full IT solutions/ERP lifecycle from discovery and requirements gathering through configuration, user acceptance testing, go-live, and post-implementation support, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders throughout the engagement, managing expectations and proactively communicating project status, risks, decisions, and escalations.
- Identify and manage scope changes early, driving timely resolution to protect delivery quality and client satisfaction.
- Apply Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies as appropriate to the engagement.
Finance & ERP Functional Expertise
- Configure and implement ERP financial modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Multi-Subsidiary Consolidation, Revenue Recognition, and Financial Reporting, among others.
- Design chart of accounts structures, financial dimensions (departments, classes, locations, custom segments), and intercompany frameworks aligned to client business requirements.
- Advise clients on best-practice financial process design, internal controls, and period-end close procedures within the ERP environment.
- Lead the design and implementation of Budget vs. Actual reporting, financial dashboards, and management reporting packages within the ERP and connected analytics tools.
- Oversee data migration from legacy financial systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of opening balances and historical data.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Apply deep FP&A expertise to guide clients in building budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning frameworks within the IT solutions platform.
- Design and implement multi-dimensional budget structures, including support for custom segments, multi-currency, and multi-subsidiary consolidation, to meet complex organizational reporting requirements.
- Partner with client finance teams to design contribution margin reporting, cost center analysis, and performance reporting packages tailored to different stakeholder audiences (executive, business unit owners, board-level).
- Advise on ERP-native versus third-party planning tool strategies (e.g., NetSuite Planning & Budgeting, Vena, Anaplan) based on client complexity and cost considerations.
- Support the integration of ERP financial data with external analytics and BI platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) to enable automated, recurring reporting workflows.
Pre-Sales & Business Development
- Actively participate in pre-sales activities including discovery calls, solution demonstrations, proposal development, and estimate/engagement le preparation.
- Identify and articulate the business value of IT, ERP and analytics solutions to prospective clients, translating technical capabilities into finance-relevant business outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships that generate referrals, expand existing engagements, and contribute to the firm's revenue growth.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within active client accounts.
- Support the development of case studies, capability presentations, and practice-area content that demonstrate the firm's expertise.
Training, Enablement & Post-Go-Live Support
- Develop and deliver role-based training for finance and accounting end users, ensuring system adoption and confidence across the client organization.
- Produce comprehensive documentation including process flow diagrams, configuration guides, user manuals, and post-implementation support playbooks.
- Provide ongoing post-implementation advisory support, focusing on system optimization, new module rollouts, and evolving reporting needs.
- Support and mentor junior team members on functional best practices, client engagement, and delivery standards.
Technology Adaptability & AI Enablement
- Maintain deep expertise in NetSuite while demonstrating the agility and openness to work across other ERP platforms (SAP, Rillet, Campfire and others) as project assignments require.
- Proactively engage in continuous learning initiatives, including firm-provided training on emerging ERP platforms, modules, and implementation methodologies.
- Embrace the adoption of AI-powered tools including AI-assisted documentation, workflow automation, reporting, and project management tools as part of the firm's ongoing investment in delivery innovation.
- Leverage AI productivity tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and AI-integrated platforms) to improve the quality, speed, and consistency of client deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ERP implementation or functional consulting, with a focus on financial modules.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), financial reporting, or management accounting, ideally within a corporate finance or consulting environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle ERP implementations as a project lead or functional lead, with direct client-facing delivery responsibility.
- Deep expertise in NetSuite ERP financial modules; experience with additional ERP platforms (SAP, Rillet, Campfire, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Intacct, or similar) is a strong advantage.
- Proven track record of engaging with and presenting solutions to C-suite and senior finance stakeholders.
- Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including solution scoping, demonstrations, and proposal or SOW development.
- Familiarity with BI and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar) and their integration with ERP financial data.
- Familiarity with common NetSuite customization methods (workflows, scripting, and similar tools), with enough hands-on awareness to estimate how long technical customizations typically take, expert-level execution not required.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new systems, tools, and technologies including AI-powered platforms in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- ERP certifications (e.g., NetSuite ERP Consultant, NetSuite Financial User, SAP FI/CO) are a plus.
- Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies. PMP certification is a plus.
TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS
- ERP Financial Modules — Deep functional knowledge of core financial modules including GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Multi-Book Accounting, Revenue Recognition (ASC 606), and Consolidation. Ability to configure and validate these modules against business requirements. NetSuite expertise is required; experience with or willingness to be trained on additional platforms is essential.
- FP&A & Budgeting Systems — Strong working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis frameworks. Experience implementing or advising on ERP-native budgeting features and/or third-party planning tools. Ability to design multi-dimensional budget structures and build recurring BVA reporting packages.
- Financial Reporting & Analytics — Proficient in designing management reporting frameworks, financial dashboards, and period-end reporting packages. Experience connecting ERP data to BI tools and building automated reporting pipelines is a strong advantage.
- Project Management — Proficient in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid). Experienced with project tracking tools such as ClickUp, Jira, Monday.com, or similar. Capable of managing multiple concurrent engagements with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Pre-Sales & Solutioning — Ability to conduct compelling ERP demonstrations, develop solution-fit narratives, and contribute to proposals and SOW documentation. Comfortable presenting to senior finance and executive audiences in both pre-sales and delivery contexts.
- AI Tools & Emerging Technology — Familiarity with or genuine willingness to learn AI tools including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and AI-integrated productivity platforms. Openness to leveraging AI for documentation, reporting, and workflow automation within client engagements.
- ERP Integrations Awareness — Working knowledge of common ERP integration patterns and third-party connectors (Avalara, Shopify, payment platforms, SSO/SAML, REST APIs) sufficient to manage and validate technical integration work performed by a developer or integration specialist.
- Process Documentation — Skilled in producing clear, audience-appropriate documentation including current-state/future-state process maps, configuration workbooks, gap analysis documents, and training materials.
- Client Communication & Stakeholder Management — Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Able to facilitate complex conversations with both finance leadership and operational end users, adapting communication style to the audience.
