Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) to ensure timely and effective maintenance. Ensuring equipment reliability, monitor maintenance schedules, manage equipment documentation, and support project operations by maintaining maximum equipment availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the operation and utilization of heavy equipment and provide technical guidance to equipment operators.
- Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Track and analyze equipment performance, utilization, and fuel consumption.
- Coordinate the inspection, repair, and servicing of heavy equipment and company vehicles.
- Canvass and recommend equipment parts and materials for procurement.
- Ensure all heavy equipment, company vehicles, and sea-based equipment have valid registrations, permits, and required government documentation.
- Process government permits and registrations for sea-based equipment and vessels.
- Monitor and verify the timekeeping of equipment operators and bargemen.
- Evaluate equipment operators and provide recommendations for hiring, training, and performance improvement.
- Maintain accurate equipment records, maintenance history, and operational reports.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable government regulations.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance and/or repair activities for heavy equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained in safe, reliable, and operational condition.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) is required.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in heavy equipment maintenance, fleet management, or equipment engineering, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance planning, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with equipment documentation, vehicle registration, and government compliance requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of equipment management systems is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Willing to relocate
