Our Environment Group is seeking for an Environmental Scientist that will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team across a variety of infrastructure, energy and resources, transport, water and other project types. The Environmental Scientist will contribute to the delivery of environmental and sustainability projects in the Philippines across a range of sectors by undertaking technical environmental assessments, managing defined project components, and supporting environmental risk identification, assessment and mitigation. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulators, and includes responsibility for preparing local environmental impact assessment (EIA), or environmental risk assessment (ERA), international environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA), environmental and social due diligence, or other technical modules of the EIA/ESIA requirements relevant to environmental science. The role also involves contributing to project coordination and management activities to support the timely and compliant delivery of project outcomes.

  • Coordination and delivery of environmental impact assessment studies for public and private sector clients across a range end of markets
  • Conduct routine tasks related to environmental impact assessments using specified systems and protocols.
  • Provide technical leadership within the group / team commensurate to your level and assist in the review of quality of project outcomes.
  • Apply specialised technical knowledge in the delivery of projects for our clients
  • Manage project development processes, activities and resources (staff time and disbursements).
  • Brief, lead, manage and work with the project team to achieve the project outcomes
  • Deliver the project within budget and on time and to program in accordance with the Project Plan
  • Assist with the management of risks and opportunities within the team.
  • Assist with management of the Quality, HSE, IMS, compliance standards and promotion of continuous improvement in our systems and processes.
  • Deliver services to meet client requirements and expectations, by providing specialised technical services on a diverse range of projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues outside of the Environment Group to deliver multi-disciplinary and cross-geographical work
  • Act as Project Manager for assigned projects, with endtoend responsibility for planning, delivery, and closeout.
  • Support the preparation of bids for the Business Group (go / no go through to delivery including collaboration with bid teams as appropriate).
  • Enhance the client relationship through responsiveness, effective communication, quality, and timely project delivery
  • Assist the Group in their annual business plan development.

Education

  • Bachelor degree qualifications in Environmental Engineering or Science, or similar discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a relevant field
  • Knowledgeable in local and international regulations and standards (e.g. IFC Performance Standards, EU Taxonomy, WBG EHS guidelines)
  • Experience in environmental risk assessment, HAZOP, HAZID, or environmental site assessment is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Ability to develop good business relationships with established and existing clients, provide high quality outputs and develop repeat business.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, cooperative with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently when required and demonstrate sound judgement and decisiveness.
