The Venture
Enerpass is a platform-first last-mile operating system for decentralized energy. We digitize and standardize job-matching, installation workflows, QA/QC, and payments for solar, batteries, EV charging, and other distributed energy systems.
Enerpass is designed to scale execution, turning fragmented installers, EPCs, and field teams into a reliable, repeatable delivery network. The goal is to become the default platform powering last-mile delivery for decentralized energy across Southeast Asia.
About the Role
As the founding CTO of Enerpass, you will build and scale the technical foundation of the platform, not just a service-based product. Your core mandate is to digitize fragmented physical operations into a unified, automated system.
You will own platform architecture, product engineering, and technical strategy. You will ensure Enerpass achieves scale by building the trust infrastructure that automates compliance and verification, removing the manual bottlenecks that currently slow down the industry.
This role requires a CTO who has built technology for operationally heavy industries (like logistics or fintech), understands how to solve for offline constraints, and knows how to drive automation from pilot to high-volume scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Architecture and Automation:
- Design the technical foundation of the platform by transforming manual processes into automated digital workflows.
- Architect the verification engine that validates user compliance instantly to eliminate manual intervention.
- Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and capable of handling high-frequency transactions with zero data loss.
Product Engineering and User Experience:
- Lead the development of a mobile-first product that bridges complex backend logic with a frictionless interface for non-technical users.
- Build features that drive rapid adoption by simplifying onboarding flows for the field workforce.
- Ensure the technology performs reliably in low-connectivity and variable field environments, not just in a controlled testing lab.
Data Strategy and Reliability
- Establish the platform as a single source of truth where data is accurate, immutable, and available in real-time.
- Design an API-first architecture to ensure seamless interoperability with external banking, ERP, and partner ecosystems
Offline-First and Field-Resilient Systems
- Guarantee task completion, evidence capture, and data integrity in low-connectivity environments.
- Ensure the platform works reliably in real field conditions, not just ideal network setups.
Interoperability with Energy Hardware
- Build and maintain integrations with inverter APIs, monitoring platforms, smart meters, and IoT devices.
- Enable a shift from self-reported evidence to machine-verified proof of work.
Energy Asset and Commissioning Intelligence
- Encode asset-specific rules for installation, configuration, and commissioning into the platform.
- Convert physical field work into structured, verifiable digital asset records.
Team, Culture and Execution
- Hire and lead the Product and Engineering team with a focus on practical execution.
- Establish a technical culture that balances shipping speed with system stability and code quality.
- Align technical KPIs with business outcomes like user adoption, retention, and verification speed.
Stakeholder and Venture Leadership
- Work closely with 1882EV to leverage shared resources and venture-building support.
- Communicate a clear and technically grounded platform narrative to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and scaling platform technologies in logistics, fintech, or operationally complex sectors is required.
- Strong understanding of how to digitize physical workflows and drive automation through software is needed.
- Experience taking products from early concept to high-volume transaction scale is expected.
- Ability to balance architectural strategy with hands-on coding execution is essential.
- Expertise in architecting offline-first mobile solutions for variable network environments is required.
- Comfort operating in early-stage environments with ambiguity and fast iteration is expected.
- Excellent communication skills for translating technical risks to non-technical stakeholders are needed.
- Passion for decentralized energy and infrastructure innovation is desired.
