Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the engineering and maintenance functions of the manufacturing plant. This role ensures maximum equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, manages capital projects, and drives continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the plant engineering and maintenance team.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Ensure maximum equipment uptime and improve overall equipment effectiveness
• Plan, manage, and execute plant expansion, installation, and capital improvement projects.
• Prepare and manage the engineering and maintenance budget.
• Troubleshoot major equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000/ISO 22000, food safety regulations, and company quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Procurement to support manufacturing operations.
• Manage contractors, vendors, and service providers for engineering projects.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies.
• Develop engineering KPIs and prepare regular performance reports.
• Coach, mentor, and develop engineering and maintenance personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 5–10 years of engineering and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of Food manufacturing equipment and utilities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
