About Food & Beverage Solutions
We have launched a new platform called Food and Beverage Solutions, part of our ingredients and solutions reporting unit. This platform consolidates our current category solutions capabilities and innovation infrastructure. We support customers in developing new consumer concepts and application solutions at our four customer solution centres in Amsterdam, Bangalore, Chicago, and Singapore. Overview of the role:
Lead the Engineering & Maintenance function at the Bulacan plant, providing both reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance across all production equipment, utilities, and facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Own plant reliability and asset care for Bulacan by minimizing unplanned downtime, improving OEE, and ensuring utilities and infrastructure consistently support production, quality, and food safety requirements. This role will report into the Plant Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Own the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) system and ensure timely, complete execution in line with production requirements.
- Optimize equipment performance and product quality, drive KPI delivery (OEE, downtime, losses), and lead root cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Ensure buildings, plant, utilities, and facilities are fit for purpose and provide timely engineering solutions to operational issues.
- Control maintenance and spare parts spend with clear ownership, tracking, and cost-optimization initiatives.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, equipment history, and systems data.
- Lead introduction of new machinery, plant, and equipment from specification and supplier coordination to installation and commissioning.
- Manage safe and compliant disposal of obsolete machinery, plant, and equipment.
- Act as technical escalation point for complex engineering and maintenance issues.
- Ensure the team has the right skills, resources, and tools to deliver maintenance plans and projects; engage external resources when required.
- Conduct and document risk assessments for key processes and tasks and implement appropriate controls.
- Manage on-site contractors and service providers, ensuring compliance with legal, food safety, HSE, and company requirements.
- Prepare and manage the Maintenance operating and CAPEX budgets from planning through project completion.
- Provide clear direction, coaching, and technical training to develop the team's capability on equipment, utilities, and systems.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance and work quality, implementing corrective actions and development plans as needed.
- Enforce company rules and policies on conduct and performance, applying progressive discipline in coordination with HR.
- Promote an inclusive work environment that respects diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

- Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities comply with quality, food safety, HSE, environmental, and regulatory requirements, with appropriate controls, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Act to reduce risk to products, services, people, and assets, support business continuity and emergency response, and safeguard confidential technical and business information.
Other Duties
- Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering & Maintenance team, ensuring clear objectives, strong engagement, and a safe, compliant work environment
- Implement best-practice maintenance strategies, drive engineering and process improvements, and actively contribute to plant management and continuous improvement
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers on equipment capability and changes, balancing reliability, quality, and cost
- Maintain professional and technical competence and support cross-functional needs and ad hoc assignments as required by the Plant Manager.
Success measures:
- Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) by line and plant versus target.
- Adherence to Line Loss Allowance.
- Repairs and Maintenance Cost per ton produced.
- Preventive Maintenance Schedule (PMS) adherence – minimum 95%.
- Compliance to approved project budgets – minimum 95% on CAPEX and major projects.
- 0000 Critical Incidents related to Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Safety, and Notice of Violation.
Qualifications & profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering; a master's degree in engineering management or business is an advantage.
- At least 7–10 years of engineering, maintenance, or plant utilities experience in food manufacturing, ideally within flavourings, seasonings, or ingredients blending, with several years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in driving asset reliability (OEE, MTBF, MTTR), implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and leading successful engineering or CAPEX projects.
- Strong technical grounding in processing and packaging equipment, utilities (steam, compressed air, water, refrigeration), and controls/automation (PLCs, instrumentation, CMMS).
- Demonstrated capability in maintenance budgeting, cost control (repairs and maintenance cost/ton), and lifecycle management of equipment and critical spares.
- Hands-on experience with CMMS/maintenance systems and data-driven decision making for downtime analysis, reliability improvement, and maintenance planning.
- Effective leader and communicator who can build, coach, and engage a multi-skilled maintenance team and collaborate strongly with Production, QA, Supply Chain, and external contractors.
- High level of problem-solving ability, urgency, and ownership in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and scaling manufacturing environment, with strong focus on food safety, quality, and safety compliance.
