Construction Safety Officer

Responsibilities
Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a Construction Safety Officer. The Construction Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all safety protocols related to the construction of the Common and Production Facilities at the Malvar site. Over the course of the project, the Safety Officer will ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards, mitigate on-site hazards, and promote a safety-first culture across all project activities. The Safety Officer will provide active oversight and risk management support throughout the construction of the following major components:
- Various Parking Areas (for trucks, cars, and motorcycles)
- Site Development Phase 2
- Utility Building
- Administration Building and Elevated Walkway
- Bakery Building
- Ingress/Egress Complex and Truckers Lounge
- People Wellness Facility
This assignment may extend beyond the initial two-year duration in the event that additional facilities are approved and added to the project scope.
- What are the Roles and Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans ensuring compliance with industrial construction regulations and standards.
- Monitor daily construction activities to ensure safe work practices, proper use of PPE, and hazard control during heavy equipment operation and structural works.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and lead investigations of incidents or near misses with detailed reporting.
- Organize and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency drills focused on industrial hazards and emergency preparedness.
- Coordinate safety communication among project teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies, promoting a strong safety culture onsite
