Job Description

Energy Designer Building Energy Compliance (70K- 100K | Remote | FREE AI Certification)

Work From Home | 12:00 AM9:00 AM | TuesdaySaturday

You own energy compliance outputs that directly impact building permit approvals and sustainability certifications for U.S.-based projects. Your primary responsibility is preparing accurate, code-aligned energy models and compliance reports (COMcheck, Title 24/EnergyPro, Energy Gauge, Seattle/Washington State, and ASHRAE forms) while coordinating closely with MEP/FP/IT design teams to ensure technical alignment with project requirements and green building standards.

This is a production-driven, calculation-intensive role operating within defined scopes and U.S. regulatory frameworks. You thrive here if you are detail-oriented, comfortable working independently in a remote night-shift setup, and confident navigating energy codes, engineering standards, and cross-disciplinary coordination without constant supervision.

You're Likely a Strong Fit If You Have

  • At least 2 years of energy design experience within an MEP/FP engineering consultancy
  • Hands-on responsibility preparing energy calculations and compliance documentation (COMcheck, Title 24/EnergyPro, Energy Gauge, ASHRAE, Washington State forms)
  • Working knowledge of MEP engineering principles and energy modeling standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft 365 for documentation and coordination
  • Experience contributing to LEED documentation (BD+C or ID+C), or ability to obtain credential
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, deadline-driven U.S. project environments
  • Willingness to work a fixed night shift (12:00 AM9:00 AM, TuesdaySaturday) in a fully remote setup

Strong Signals

  • LEED BD+C or ID+C credential (active or in progress)
  • Exposure to California Title 24 compliance projects
  • Experience supporting U.S.-based design teams across multiple states

Responsibility Pillars

Energy Compliance & Modeling Ownership

You are accountable for producing accurate, defensible energy calculations aligned with U.S. building codes and sustainability standards.

  • Prepare COMcheck, EnergyPro (Title 24), Energy Gauge, ASHRAE, and Washington State compliance reports
  • Perform engineering calculations supporting permit and certification requirements
  • Validate modeling assumptions against project drawings and specifications

Cross-Disciplinary Design Coordination

You ensure energy outputs align with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and IT system designs.

  • Coordinate directly with MEP/FP/IT teams to resolve inconsistencies
  • Align energy documentation with client sustainability targets
  • Participate in technical meetings and provide compliance clarification when required

Green Building Documentation

You contribute structured documentation supporting sustainability certifications.

  • Prepare and organize documentation for LEED and WELL submissions
  • Track compliance milestones and maintain audit-ready records
  • Ensure submittals meet regulatory and certification body standards
