Role Overview:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for managing and supervising all electrical works on site, ensuring they align with project design specifications, timelines, and safety standards. The role also includes involvement in technical review, coordination, billing, and value engineering initiatives. The engineer will act as the key liaison between design consultants, contractors, and the internal project management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee installation and commissioning of electrical systems: power, lighting, fire alarm, ELV, and grounding systems.
- Review and validate shop drawings, technical submittals, and method statements.
- Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and site teams to ensure timely execution.
- Conduct routine inspections for quality assurance and safety compliance.
- Prepare and verify electrical quantities for BOQ and monitor material consumption.
- Support monthly billing certification and validate contractor claims.
- Participate in value engineering reviews to optimize designs and reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Track work progress against schedule and prepare daily/weekly updates.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local and international codes (e.g., IEC, NEC).
- Lead technical and coordination meetings related to electrical scope.
- Prepare NCRs or observations for non-conforming works and follow up on rectification.
- Assist in QA/QC processes and ensure implementation of approved ITPs.
- Prepare Design concept as per clients requirements and instruction.
- Coordination with client and Project managers with regards to project requirements and execution.
- Conduct project site due diligence and prepare a requport to the client.
- To present design concept drawings and elaborate basis of design to the client.
- Prepare installation and testing methodology.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a large-scale construction projects.
- Experience in BOQ preparation, billing verification, and value engineering is essential.
- Experience with Fit Out works.
- Capable to prepare method statements for installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- Experience on actual or first hand testing and commissioning activities.
- Strong familiarity with Philippine construction codes and international standards.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and relevant design tools.
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Preferably a licensed Electrical Engineer in the Philippines.
