Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee and perform activities associated with EHouse projects, including electrical equipment selection, calculations, specification and design EHouse electrical design and drawing preparation cable sizing and scheduling supply chain management and vendor support. Your goal will be to ensure that the EHouse design complies with customer requirements as well as all relevant national and international rules and regulations.

The work model for this role is: Hybrid #LI-Hybrid

This role contributes to the Electrification Distribution Solutions Division of ABB.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Coordinating and performing all activities within the engineering discipline stream for the project.

  • Carrying out detailed design, sizing, and calculations for cables, cable trays, conduits, lighting, UPS, and batteries, and verifying the design completed by other team members.

  • Ensuring all documents and drawings are issued on time and meet quality standards.

  • Preparing electrical drawings (e.g., layouts, single-line diagrams, equipment arrangement, wiring/schematic diagrams, and interconnections) in AutoCAD, as well as Bills of Materials (BoMs).

  • Designing electrical building services for substations, including lighting, fire alarm systems, and grounding.

  • Conducting electrical studies for projects such as load flow, short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies using ETAP software.

Qualifications for the role

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.

  • Experience with switchgear, protection relays, and transformers.

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience in power system engineering.

  • Familiarity with local and international codes (e.g., IEC, NEC), and experience with EPLAN is an advantage.

  • Experience in data center, railway, and onshore/offshore projects is an advantage.

  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while managing customer expectations.

  • Comfortable communicating in English and Filipino.
