Role Description

This is a part-time remote position for an E-commerce API Integration Engineer. The role will focus on developing and implementing robust API integrations to support e-commerce platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing and optimizing system engineering tasks, resolving integration-related issues, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless system operations. The engineer will troubleshoot technical challenges and deliver functional software components tailored to specific requirements.

The E-commerce API Integration Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing technical integrations between brand e-commerce platforms and global retail marketplaces.

This role focuses on the backend infrastructure that enables brands to distribute products across multiple marketplaces while synchronizing inventory, product catalogues, pricing, and order management systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in API integrations, e-commerce platforms, and marketplace technology ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Software Development and Integration practices
• Demonstrated expertise in Systems Engineering and ability to optimize workflows
• Excellent Analytical Skills and a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
• Experience in Troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges efficiently
• Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and previous experience with API integration is a plus
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with a dynamic team
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred

Marketplace Integration

Lead the technical integration of brand e-commerce systems with marketplace platforms including:

• Farfetch Platform Solutions
• Zalando Partner Program
• Ounass
• Namshi Marketplace
• ASOS Marketplace
• Mirakl-powered marketplaces
• Other retail marketplace partners

API Development & Integration

Design and manage integrations using APIs to ensure seamless data exchange between systems including:

• Product catalog data
• Inventory levels
• Pricing updates
• Order processing
• Returns and fulfilment updates

Platform Connectivity

Integrate and maintain connections between:

• E-commerce platforms
• Marketplace channels
• ERP systems
• Warehouse and fulfilment systems
• Product information management systems

Product Data & Catalog Management

Ensure accurate product data mapping across platforms including:

• SKUs
• Attributes
• Product descriptions
• Pricing
• Images
• Variants

Order & Inventory Synchronisation

Build and maintain systems that synchronize:

• Inventory levels across multiple sales channels
• Marketplace orders into internal systems
• Fulfilment and shipping updates back to marketplaces

Integration Testing & Troubleshooting

Monitor integrations and resolve technical issues including:

• Data mismatches
• API failures
• Sync errors
• Order routing issues

Required Skills

Technical Skills

Strong experience with:

• API integrations (REST APIs)
• JSON / XML data structures
• Webhooks
• Data mapping and transformation

E-commerce Platforms

Experience integrating with platforms such as:

• Shopify / Shopify Plus
• Magento / Adobe Commerce

Marketplace & Integration Tools

Experience with one or more of the following:

Systems Integration

Experience integrating:

• ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics)

• 37 years experience in e-commerce technology or systems integration
• Experience integrating retail marketplaces or multichannel commerce platforms
• Background working with e-commerce brands, retail technology companies, or marketplace platforms
