We are recruiting a Draftsperson to support mining and plant projects. This is a structural steel drafting role first and foremost. The position is production-focused and will work under the direction of Australian-based engineers.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D models and drawings for mining plant structures and mechanical equipment using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Detail equipment supports, access platforms, guarding interfaces and structural attachments associated with mechanical plant
- Produce General Arrangement drawings, assembly drawings, foundation load layouts, material take-offs and detailed fabrication drawings to a high industry standard
- Prepare fabrication-ready shop drawings for structural steel including mining processing stations, conveyor structures, chute work and equipment supports

Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years experience in structural steel drafting in an Australian based company
- Experience in mining, heavy industry, process plant or industrial fabrication environments would be great
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and welding detailing
- Experience preparing shop drawings suitable for workshop production
- Exposure to mechanical plant support drafting
- Experience interpreting structural analysis outputs (e.g. SpaceGass models), not running analysis
- Concrete detailing exposure
