The Director, Commissary Operations is responsible for the overall management and operational success of commissaries. The Operations Director will work closely with the commissary managers/heads to ensure that all commissaries operate efficiently and meet the organizations standards and goals.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and development
- Develop and implement long-term strategies to improve efficiency, expand capacity and enhance product offerings.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for innovation and growth within commissary operations.
- Set operational goals and KPIs, and monitor progress to ensure targets are met.
- Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to company standards.
- Develop and implement operational policies to improve workflow and reduce waste.
- Financial Management
- Prepare and manage the commissary's budget, ensuring financial stability and growth.
- Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by maintaining quality service, service level agreements and addressing feedback.
- Team Member Leadership and Development
- Provide leadership and direction to the commissary management team.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote professional development among team members.
- Gatekeeps the values of the Company and drives integrity in all processes and practices within the commissary.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and comply with food safety regulations.
- Implement quality control systems and conduct regular audits.
- Cross-functional Coordination
- Collaborate with other departments (shared services) to ensure integrated operations.
- Align commissary operations with overall business objectives.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Prepare regular reports on commissary performance, including production, inventory and financial metrics.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions needed.
- Facility Maintenance and Management
- Oversee the overall maintenance and management of commissary facilities.
- Ensure facilities are maintained in a state of good repair and meet all Occupational Safety Health and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in business, manufacturing, management, manufacturing, engineering, or a related field and possess some relevant industry experience.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a commissary, retail, or food service environment.
- Proven track record of managing multiple locations and leading large teams.
- Ability to review and interpret concepts and to communicate necessary actions and requests clearly and concisely.
- Ability to be flexible in a dynamic work environment.
- Knowledge of Production and Purchasing functions in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Strong understanding of entire flow of production from materials preparation to processing finished goods.
- Must have the ability to communicate at all levels and have great interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, ability to handle high volume workload, and changing priorities in a high paced department.
- Understanding of Standards and Specifications, Documentation and Traceability Requirements.
