Digital Senior Product Manager

With most customer traffic now flowing through Digital API, the Digital Platform is one of our most strategic assets.
We are seeking a Product Manager to drive the next era of Digital Platform innovation. In this role, you will advance our APIFirst vision, accelerate adoption of Digital APIs, and help transition customers from legacy platforms. You'll shape a modern, scalable platform that strengthens developer experience and enables airlines to innovate quickly and reliably.
Job Scope
Product Strategy & Vision
- Own the strategy for the Digital Platform, championing an APIFirst mindset where APIs are treated as the primary delivery mechanism for core products.
- Develop and maintain a multiyear roadmap including:
- Delivery of new endpoints. Partner with engineering leadership to integrate generative AI accelerators that streamline API development.
- Customerdriven endpoint evolution
- Custom services and vertical API offerings
- Errorhandling improvements
- Telemetry/observability expansion
- Decommissioning roadmap and strategy for old APIs and frameworks
Execution & Delivery
- Drive crossteam execution as Navitaire transitions to vertically integrated teams (e.g., ESS, GoNow, Booking, Schedules, etc.) aligning API logic and business logic for faster, more consistent value delivery.
- Collaborate with architects and developers to implement consistent documentation, versioning strategy, backwards compatibility, and automated contract testing.
- Collaborate with Services team to help enable opportunities and solutions built on top of Navitaire Digital Platform.
Product Lifecycle Management
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of legacy and nextgeneration APIs, including versioning, deprecation, migration, and retirement.
- Define and execute customer migration strategies to transition clients from older APIs to new platforms with minimal disruption.
- Drive crossfunctional execution and customer communication, using usage metrics and adoption signals to track progress and manage risk.
Developer Experience & Documentation
- Partner with engineering and tech writers to improve API documentation, swaggerbased examples, and usecase guidance.
- Curate and expand content on the Navitaire Developer Portal
Customer Engagement & Adoption
- Work directly with airline product and engineering teams to understand use cases, gather requirements, and drive adoption of Digital API across shopping, booking, loyalty, payments, and operations.
- Communicate product changes, roadmap priorities, and migration options with clarity and transparency.
Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor API stability and incident data, using quantitative metrics to prioritize work and reduce Priority 1 and Priority 2 support requests. Leverage telemetry and usage data to guide roadmap decisions and identify improvement opportunities.
Required
About the ideal candidate:
- 4+ years of experience in Product Management, preferably for API platforms, developerfacing products, or enterprise SaaS systems.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, lifecycle management, versioning, and documentation standards.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business impacts for both internal teams and airline customers.
- Demonstrated success in leading crossfunctional initiatives and driving roadmap execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience influencing architects, developers, and customers.
Preferred
- Experience in travel, airline, transportation, or highscale transactional platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Exposure to generativeAIassisted development or codegeneration workflows.
- Experience working within SAFe or other enterprisescale agile frameworks.
- Background supporting developer portals, API ecosystems, or partner integration programs.
