The Position
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud DevOps AI System Lead to join our Data Driven Customer Insights team and lead the technical evolution, automation, and operations of our digital and AIdriven products at Boehringer Ingelheim. This role merges system leadership and DevOps engineering by ensuring stability, performance, automation, and continuous operation of scalable cloud and AI solutions across Commercial, Medical, and Analytics functions.
Working in a dynamic cross-functional team, this pivotal role is designed to bolster the launch of our innovative pharmaceutical products across our therapeutic areas. Your main objective will be to support sophisticated Advanced Analytics and AI solutions, focusing on rapid deployment and maximizing business value to significantly enhance the customer experience within medical and commercial business functions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that all systems function in accordance with established procedures and processes to guarantee security, compliance, and information protection. Maintain documentation of system configurations in alignment with system life cycle SOPs.
- Lead troubleshooting, incident management, and escalations, ensuring timely resolution and supporting proactive maintenance and new releases.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS; manage IaC, connectors, and release automation using OpenShift for orchestrating releases across environments.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using DevOps and GitOps principles. Manage and optimize containerized applications using Kubernetes/EKS, Helm, and ArgoCD.
- Monitor system performance, cloud service health, and contribute to AI optimization through cross-functional collaboration.
Work with other IT functional teams on service requests and system interfaces. Liaise with vendors and stakeholders to ensure effective integration and continuous improvement.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience supporting and operating complex, globallydistributed AI or cloudbased systems.
- Solid professional and customer service skills with proven experience in providing 2nd and 3rd Level support for AI solutions.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and methodologies to deliver high quality support to meet customers needs.
- Expertise in DevOps environments, CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins), GitOps, and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong proficiency with AWS services, IaC (Terraform), EKS, Helm, ArgoCD, and OpenShift Release Manager.
- Understanding of cloud security, networking, monitoring, and microservices.
- Strong analytical thinking, problemsolving, and ability to work in fastpaced environments. Sense of urgency with ability to plan and organize work.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with advanced English.
