DevOps Engineer

Overall purpose, duties and responsibilities of the role:

You will be responsible for building and automating high-performing infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure. As an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) in cloud infrastructure as well as Kubernetes and DevOps, you will be heavily involved in the automation of infrastructure solutions, assuming responsibility for the following:

1. DNS Management

2. Creating and Updating TLS Certificates

3. Creation, monitoring and updating of cloud infrastructure

4. Deployment of projects

5. Backup and Restoration of cloud infrastructure.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

Intermediate knowledge on development and deployment with:

Kubernetes

Docker

Azure Virtual Networks

Azure Application Gateway and Web Application Firewall

Azure Kubernetes Service

Azure Container Registry

Jenkins CI CD

DNS configuration and TLS certificate generation

Additional skills that put you ahead:

Having the following certificates

Certified Kubernetes Administrator / App Developer ( CNCF )

Azure Certificates (Microsoft)

Google Cloud Certificates (Google)

AWS Certificates (Amazon)

Cloud Agnostic - Not only are you capable of deploying applications in Microsoft Azure, but you ensure that the infrastructure can be easily ported into other cloud service providers

Prefers open source over vendor specific offerings when possible (e.g. Jenkins over Azure Pipelines)

Capable of automating TLS certificates using letsencrypt.org
