We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Design & Quantity Surveying Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in preparing detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates (BOQ/BOM), and assist in evaluating contractor submissions and claims. The ideal candidate will work with the Construction Management Team to assist in drafting structural drawings and developing accurate estimates for Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising structures such as static billboards, free-standing, wall-mounted displays, and LED signages. This position is vital to ensuring the efficient execution of structural plans and cost control for OOH installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Structural Drawing Assistance
- Collaborate with the Structural Engineer in preparing structural detail drawings.
- Assist in developing standard and project-specific details for static, wall-mounted, and LED billboard foundations and framing.
BOQ and BOM Estimation
- Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Bill of Materials (BOM) based on structural drawings.
- Compute quantity take-offs for steel, concrete, anchor bolts, and other construction materials.
- Assist CM (Construction Management) team in preparing cost estimates and breakdowns for proposal and awarding.
- Coordinate with procurement for material costing and market validation.
Project Support
- Provide design-related documentation support during construction implementation
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and coordinate design inputs with the CM.
- Help the CM in evaluating contractor's billing, claims and change orders.
Value Engineering and Design Coordination
- Identify potential cost-saving measures or design alternatives without compromising integrity.
- Assist in resolving design and quantity-related site concerns in coordination with the CM and contractor.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Construction Project Manager Lead in support of project needs.
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of BS Civil Engineering or BS Architecture
- Minimum 3 years of experience in structural design support and cost estimation (preferably with billboard or steel-frame structures)
- Licensed Civil Engineer is an advantage but not required
- Strong grasp of structural detailing, quantity take-off, and estimating principles
- Highly proficient in AUTOCAD and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with local government codes and practices is a plus.
