Design and Cost Engineer

Job Summary

Responsible for preparation of accurate and competitive proposal based on Materials Take-off and breakdown of cost that will yield to EEI's profit.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prepares Request for Assistance to other Engineering Trade and Support Group for the completion of Tender Package.

2. Compiles all necessary Tender Documents prior to the distribution to subordinates.

3. Conduct basic engineering design as required to complete the cost proposal.

4. Estimates quantity based on the Scope of Works and Tender Drawings.

5. Prepares TQ or RFI (Request for Information).

6. Reviews completeness of quotation packages.

7. Tabulates proposal from Subcontractors and Suppliers. Provides format of summary for estimated quantities.

8. Provides format of summary for estimated quantities.

9. Performs cost breakdown (e.g. bill of materials, man-hours/manpower loading and equipment loading) based on Client requirements to attain a competitive proposal.

10. Applies established parameter MHRS per activity.

11. Applies the requirements of bid documents with regard to Work Item Method of Measurement (work coverage).

Job Qualifications

Educational Attainment:

• College Graduate with Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Estimating

Skills:

• Excellent in Communication (oral and written)
• Computer Literacy (MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word)
• Knowledgeable in Auto Cad or any material take off software

Experience:

• Have keen analytical skills.
• Proficient in interpretation of plans and drawings.
• Attentive to details
• At least 2 years work experience as Design and Cost Engineer
